Game Session 14

Game Notes – Everyone levels up to.6

Next game June 14th

The timeline is now early September.

During downtime  Roughly mid June a small group of refugees joined Kayakee, which was the beginning of more groups seeking out the tribe as word was spreading.

In this group was a person of interest, and EOD specialist Phil Simmons, which Ted sought out to learn Demolitions and Disposal as secondary skills.

Tim delved deep into study of his relative new magical abilities, and reduces his PPE expenditure of spells by 1 PPE

Ryan’s time is TBD as he was absent from this game.

Assisted by Ironhound and Bulkhead, I worked on at first collecting scrap metals and useful materials from the various sources in the ruins of the surrounding area that was once Clare.  Forcing Tim to take breaks from mystical arts to practice his mystical arts on magically refining, and condensing pieces into raw materials for further processing.

Then built the machines to turn the various materials into other materials to build the things, and the bots to do the things, while taking breaks moved to upgrading the team’s weapons to optimized versions.  By mid August, a couple helper bots had been created, slightly increasing production.

By the end of August,  Projects had been started to upgrade village buildings to MDC, along with integrated plumbing and utilities.   Completed a set of Kayekee Woodsman Armor for each of the group. I also have delved into the Computer equipment recovered from Camp Grayling, while most of the recovered records were  standard daily operations, requisitions, reports and transfers.  However there was a personal journal from one of the staff members that  described various events of increasing instability politically and environmentally.  That culminated in Large scale events with evacuations and cataclysmic events beginning mid March 2035 and evacuating the base in early August 2035.

After our quicktime montage of summerbreak, we decided to head to New Lazlo.  Once we got there at the gate once we identified ourselves and let the guard know that we were from Kayakee.  The Guard checked with the back office, and after verifying that we were the group from somewhere in the center part of the state, with the transforming bots. We were told to leave them in vehicle form.

We then went to city hall, met with New Lazlo’s Minister of Commerce and negotiated trade agreements between New Lazlo and Kayakee.  After several hours negotiations with contracts in hand. We headed out to find some dinner.  As we were wandering around checking out options for food, we heard some people talking about demon incursions.  We stopped and talked to the people about the incursions,  we were informed the incursions were increasing  indicating a large-scale incursion was probably going to happen in the near future, and they happen every 20 or so years, and the last one was about 20 years ago.

Once we found a quiet tavern, to get a decent meal,  while we were eating; a table nearby was discussing  some spells,  Ted eavesdropping on the conversation, interjected with a possible mundane solution to a magical problem.  Which caused the table to take notice of us.  The slightly confused mages started taking a good look at our group.   As the conversation continued about mundane solutions to improve fire magic.  One of the mages realised Tim was not just another mage but a Ley-line Rifter.

The mage that realised Tim was a Rifter, interrupted the conversation saying, “Excuse my rudeness but we have not seen a Ley-Line Rifter in a hundred years, how did you become one?”  Tim’s answer led to a further question of “How long had he been a Rifter?”  Which led to us admitting that we were Old Worlders, and we basically fell through temporal rifts.  Which led to more questions and a growing crowd.  As the night progressed and the crowds reached critical mass, we offered to teach an Old World course to answer the mountains of questions.  This turned into each of us teaching a couple of classes a day for a week, in a standing room only amphitheater.

In Ted’s off time from teaching he took some anti-spellcaster training, gaining +3 initiative vs Spell-casters.

Bulkhead learning of our old space programs, specifically The Voyager, and solar probes, he had some ideas on how to reconnect communications with the various probes that might still exist.  The fee for help with this and cleaning up the orbiting debris cloud surrounding the planet, preventing leaving the planet and satellites, was for Tim to open a rift to Cybertron, so he could return home.  Bulkhead shared star charts around Cybertron, and comparisons of Earth star charts to contrast. Cybertron was revealed to be 1984 lightyears away.

We discussed how to proceed with this, I pointed out there was a large known rift in the Jackson area that was formed at the intersection of 3 separate leylines.  As we headed towards the Jackson rift along the I-94 corridor, we came across a small group of haggard individuals heading in the same direction. We gave them some food and water, and discovered they were trying to head to the “refuge” somewhere near the center of the state.  We gave them a map, pointed them in the correct direction.  We contacted Kayakee and let them know refugees were heading their way, and to send out some patrols to meet them and guide them “home”.  Just after I heard a barking, and noticed a Dog-boy scurrying into the woods heading south west.

Shortly after we got to the Jackson Rift, as Tim was scanning the rift, Bulkhead detected Decepticon signals causing him and Ironhound to take off to the south.  We heard some scrambled radio back to us “Sound… cassette… blocked… black…”  Tim sent an arcane eye through the rift, and saw a D&D style medieval hamlet with Dwarves, Elves, and humans  that appeared to be unaware of the giant rift right at their front door.  Tim collapsed the existing rift to coopt the energies for a space bridge to Cybertron.  We got a radio communication from the pair, they had moved out of the radio jamming area, and hid telling us they came across a battle of Soundwave, his cassettes and Megatron fighting a CS patrol including a Devastator.

Tim prepped to create the spacebridge as we waited for the Autobots to return. Once the pair returned we learned that the fight ended and the Decepticons began negotiating with the CS. We discussed if we needed to worry about the Decepticons, and how far away they were.  The plan changed for the bridge to Cybertron with the introduction of  new Decepticon players.  It was decided that Tim would open a bridge for Bulkhead to cross, closing the way for about 20 minutes before re-opening it to let Bulkhead come back  Once the Bridge was created, Tim sent an eye through and verified that it was in fact connecting to Cybertron.  Bulkhead went through and the way was closed.  The rest of us and Ironhound guarded Tim, as he was enmeshed in the weave, maintaining the bridge.

Jackson rift

After the time set, Tim re-opened the bridge, we could see Bulkhead and several other Autobots in a battle with some Decepticons.  The Autobots held the Decepticons off for Bulkhead, Cup and Wheeljack to cross over, Optimus telling Tim to close the way once the trio was through..Ironhound informed us the Decepticon signals had ended, leading us to believe there was another Cybertron space bridge near by.  Using a little triangulation, and intuition we determined that the other Cybertron bridge was probably coopting the Adrian Rift to the southeast of the Jackson Rift.

We headed back to Kayakee, I informed Wheeljack of what we were working with technology wise.  Working with Wheeljack and Bulkhead, we came up with designs for improved communication devices to reach the various Space Probes, and a space net to clear out the orbital debris.  This took a couple of days, during this time Tim wanted to see if he could create a Rift/Bridge to the moon.  He found that while he believed he had the ability, but lacked the needed quantity/ pool of PPE.
