Game notes: Massive Character Changes …..
After Camping the night with both the transformers keeping watch, at the transformed Raw Energon mine Just NE of Grayling. Tim had a dream, telling him of an important quest. Waking from the Dream, in the middle of the night. Tim noticed a path illuminated by the Minor Ley line, He asked the Pair of Transformers if they could see the illuminated path. They confirmed they could not.
Tim followed the path to the bottom of the bowl of the mine, past where the Energon was at the surface Tim noticed the wall looked to be made of turtle shell. Following the shell he found an opening. Inside a stone chamber with a wooden door, and along the wall were carvings of the various indigenous peoples’ gods and great spirits.
After finding the door refusing to open, Tim scanned the room and touched the symbol of Kitchi Manitou, resulting in the door swinging open, revealing darkness. As Tim approached the doorway. He heard a voice, telling him of a trail, that he must undergo, which he must choose a fate, be granted something of great import but he must sacrifice something. And to remember that his companions are part of him. After that, he came out and woke the rest of us.
We all followed Tim, into the Turtle shell, and room passing through the door we found ourselves in a room with the same symbols on the wall with the symbol of the Wendigo directly across from the door. On entering the room the four of us found ourselves to be famished. Tim searched the symbols and pressed the Earth mother which opened the door for this room. Passing through we found ourselves in a room with a simple wooden table, loaded with various indigenous foods, and another door up a short set of steps. We discussed the various implications of a hunger trail after each of us had something to eat: Tim some wild rice, Teddy a potato, Ryan some meat, and an apple for myself. Teddy decided he wanted to open the door, by running his hand along the wall, the door opened after he ran his hand along Kitchi Manitou’s symbol. From the darkness we could hear wave and a distant storm.

Stepping through this door, we found ourselves on an island in the middle of a great lake, the stony island a mere 40 or so feet across. Once on the island the doorway vanished, and besides ourselves a Nibenabe (indigenous mer-maid) sat on the shore of the island. She appeared frightful of us once we made ourselves known. Tim talked to her and found she needed help with a “Nishisinibig” (a Gryphon esque cross between a dragon and cougar), further discussion led us to learn this was an evil water spirit that would drown its prey. Tim threw a rock into the lake which seemed to attract its attention. It swam close enough to be seen in the water, as it circled the island.

As “Nishi” circled the island, I took pot shots at it by rail gunning rocks… I didn’t hit it. After a while Tim communed with the spirits, on what we should do, as we were having no luck luring “Nishi” on to land, to fight it. The spirits told Tim “To drain the tub.” Ted decided to “Thing” up and head into the water, to see if he can find a plug to drain the lake. “Nishi” noticed ted right away, and followed him, being confused by this large walking rock. After a while walking along the bottom of the lake , Ted found a large rock “plug”. Once Ted tried to pull the plug “Nishi” began attacking him, to make him stop. “Nishi” being a water spirit, and Ted being a big rock, Ted was not really able to defend himself from “Nishi”’s harassment, and decided to return to the island.

Tim and I finally decided to head into the water in the direction Ted headed, after a few minutes we found Ted as he headed back to the island being harassed by “Nishi.” As we arrived and started attacking “Nishi” Ted managed to finally get a hold of the spirit. With Ted restraining “Nishi” Tim shot the spirit and I went into stabby mode. The combined damage of being shot, stabbed and crushed, caused “Nishi” to thrash violently breaking free of Ted’s crushing grasp, allowing the spirit to swiftly “run” away, like Sir Thomas. After that we all walked along the bottom of the lake to plug, Ted pulled the plug then dragged the rest of us back to shore as we suffered from a specific lack of mass that was threatening to flush the rest of us.down the drain.

We made our way back to the growing island, it took about 10 minutes for the lake to drain, and once empty, the Nibinabe and everything vanished, revealing we were in the stone room, just like a holodeck story. Once we got our bearing in the room there was an archway filled with the void. Stepping through the void, we found ourselves in a room that held the Indigenous Spirits symbols arranged in a family tree, with the story of the turtle and hero. As we scanned the room we all started to feel the effects of age. As Ted was the only one of us not in EV Armor, we could see him visibly aging before our eyes. Tim touched the symbol of the hero – Nanbush, opening the archway to an Amazonian rainforest jungle. Moving through the arch vanished holodeck style once we walked through.

We found ourselves on a game trail, we followed it along until we found a grassy clearing. Sitting in the clearing was a Jaguar man, the Incan god Piltzintecuhtli, as we approached “Pilzi” the sky darkens and a full moon rises. Beneath the moon light “Pilzi” stands and facing us speaks, asking “Whom is the taker of the trial?” As Tim stepped forward “Pilzi” continued speaking “Your companions while not of our world are here as extensions of your path. You must choose, Sacrifice something great to reach greatness in return.” Addressing the rest of us, “You are not necessarily part of the family, however choices made shall reap consequences or benefits.” As “Pilzi” finishes speaking the moon sets and the day returns, with “Pilzi” and the jungle fading as the darkness recedes, returning us to a stone room with a wooden door in place of the archway.

Ted reached out and opened the door, passing through the doorway we found ourselves in a long hallway, the other end blocked by a Wendigo. We all stood for a few moments just staring down each other. Tim finally shrugged and walked up to the Wendigo, greeting it, the Wendigo told him he may pass. The rest of us followed suit one at a time. As the last of us passed, he chuckled and said “I have no sway over you as you have not consumed the flesh of people.”

Passing through the doorway behind the Wendigo, we found ourselves in a circular room containing Ketchimanatou, Nanabush(the hero) and the Muskrat spirit. Ketchimanatou called each of us forward individually, offering us the choice of sacrifice. With some trepidation Tim

Chose the sacrifice, he lost his inner speedforce to become a Ley Line Shaman, Teddy lost his “Thing” becoming a “Spirit Warrior”, Ryan, lost his hunka, hunka chunka, burning love, vomitous projection ability, to become a Shamanistic healer. I lost my shocking sparkyness, electric abilities, gaining expansive knowledge of artifice of most things mundane and magical. The godly expansion of my mind, unlike my cohorts who were touched by magic, I seemed to actually lose magical potential.
